Various scientific publications are written in English, scientific communication is often conducted in English. This is why many researchers and authors have been looking forward to a module that helps them master and fine-tune the necessary academic English skills, both in written and oral form. “Academic English2.0” has been developed to fill this gap.
“Academic English2.0” is an online e-learning module for tablet, PC, Mac and smartphone, easy to access and available via our servers 24/7. The e-module is suitable for complete self-study or semi-autonomous learning (face-to-face or e-coaching).
The topics covered include the anatomy of a research paper, functional grammar, pitfalls and dos and don’ts.
The extra unit on Presenting Data focuses on presentation skills and explaining scientific graphs and charts.
The module allows the learner to move from theory to exercises and vice versa. In this way, learners are invited to start from a general notion or theory, which is then applied to specific corpus-based language examples, and honed through practice exercises.
The module also includes a spelling checklist and a list of useful websites offering a range of freely available online resources which may help you to fine-tune your writing.
